Real Art on Your Walls, No Gallery Required

A marketplace where first-time buyers discover affordable original works from emerging artists — with transparent prices, no awkward DMs, and nothing that looks like a poster once it's on the wall.

No spam. Just updates when we launch.

Buying original art feels impossible — and it shouldn't

01

You found something you love and had nowhere to go

You stumbled onto an artist's Instagram, felt that pull, and then hit a wall: no price, no buy button, just a DM option that felt presumptuous. So you closed the tab and forgot about it.

02

Etsy left you more confused than when you started

You searched 'original oil painting under R3,000' and couldn't tell what was handmade, what was a print of a painting, or whether the cheapest option would look cheap in your home. You gave up and ordered a poster you feel nothing about.

03

Galleries made you feel like you didn't belong

You walked in, saw no prices on anything, sensed that asking was somehow wrong, and left feeling more certain than ever that real art is for someone else — not you.

A buying experience designed for people who aren't gallery people

01

Every price is right there — no asking, no negotiating

Every work is listed with a clear price and a breakdown of exactly what the artist earns. You buy like you'd buy anything online. No gatekeeping, no awkward conversation required.

02

Originals only, curated so you can actually tell the difference

No prints, no reproductions, no print-on-demand mugs. Every piece is a one-of-a-kind original. The discovery filters — size, style, medium, price — are built to give a nervous first-time buyer real confidence before they click buy.

03

A personal connection that a poster can never give you

Your piece arrives within two weeks with a handwritten card from the artist. You'll know who made it, what they were thinking, and why it exists. That's the thing you'll tell people about when they ask where you got it.

How it works

01

Browse with filters that actually help you decide

Set your budget, your wall size, and the style you're drawn to. Every result is a unique original — no prints, no ambiguity. A dedicated under-R5,000 category means you're never guessing whether something is in reach.

02

See the full picture before you commit

Every listing shows the exact price, the artist's cut, the dimensions, the medium, and room-scale photos so you can visualise it on your wall. No mysteries, no minimum purchase, no need to email anyone.

03

Buy directly from the artist in a few clicks

Checkout works like any other online store. Your payment goes straight to the artist. No gallery commission inflating the price — what you pay reflects the actual work, not the postcode of a Sandton gallery.

04

Receive the piece — and a card from the person who made it

Your original arrives carefully packaged within two weeks, with a small card from the artist. That's a story. A poster from a big-box retailer will never give you one.

Questions, answered.

How do I know the work is actually original and not a print?
Every artist on the platform agrees to our listing standards: originals only, no giclée or digital reproductions. Each listing specifies the medium, the year, and confirms it is a one-of-a-kind work. If a piece is ever found to misrepresent itself, it is removed and the buyer receives a full refund.
What if the piece looks different in my home than on my screen?
Every listing includes room-scale reference photos alongside the standard detail shots. We also publish the exact dimensions and dominant colours so you can hold a piece of paper that size against your wall before you buy. If the work arrives and is materially different from how it was described, we'll make it right.
Are prices negotiable, or is what I see what I pay?
What you see is what you pay. There is no hidden commission added at checkout, no 'make an offer' ambiguity. Transparent, fixed pricing is a core part of what makes this marketplace different from approaching an artist directly or walking into a gallery.
How long does shipping take, and how is the work packaged?
Most works arrive within two weeks of purchase. Artists package originals to professional shipping standards — flat works are sandwiched between acid-free board and boxed; canvases are corner-protected and double-boxed. Tracking is provided for every order.
What kind of budget do I actually need? Is under R3,000 realistic for a real original?
Yes. A meaningful portion of the catalogue sits under R3,000, and the full upper filter is R10,000 — which is still a fraction of what the same calibre of work would cost through a commercial gallery. The platform is specifically built to surface good work at prices that make sense for someone furnishing their first home, not decorating a corporate lobby.
What happens if I receive the work and I genuinely don't love it in person?
We are working through our buyer protection policy ahead of launch and it will be published in full before the marketplace opens. Our intention is a straightforward process that is fair to both the buyer and the artist — the details will be on the site before any money changes hands.
